Itinerary

Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage is the place with the largest herd of captive elephants in the world and which is located halfway between Colombo and Kandy. Orphanage was established in 1975 by the Sri Lanka Wildlife Department in order to afford care and protection to the orphaned Elephants found in the jungles of Sri Lanka. Presently Elephant Orphanage became a home to 93 elephants where they were abbandod or injured in the Jungle and rescued by the Wildlife Department.

Dambulla is the largest and best-preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka. Major attractions are spread over five caves, which contain statues and paintings. These paintings and statues are related to Gautama Buddha and his life. There are over 150 Buddha statues, three statues of Sri Lankan kings and four statues of gods and goddesses. Dambulla temple complex which comprises five caves dating back to the first century BC.

It’s a one of main landmark in Cultural triangle significance of Archeological and historical.Sigiriya rock was a Monastery in 3rd BC and King Kashyapa was selected this territory built his palace on top of this rock in 5th BC and decorated its sides with colorful frescoes. This was named as a World Heritage Site in 1980 by UNESCO.

The Sacred Tooth Relic temple also known as Sri Dalada Maligawa and which is one of the most significant religious site in the world Buddhism. This temple showcases traditional Kandyan architecture and gold roof design. The Sacred tooth relic was brought to Sri Lanka 4th Century AD from the India. This relic was moved to different capitals in Sri Lanka and finally in Kandy where the last King of Sri Lanka built the temple to house it.

Yala National Park is the second largest National Park in Sri Lanka, situated on the south-east coast in the Eastern Province. The park is span over 978.8 square Kilometers, swamp lake sustained by the river through a half a mile long narrow mangrove channel. These mangrove swamps are a destination of choice for migratory birds. Yala was designated as a Wildlife sanctuary in 1900 and Yala is home for flora and fauna including Sri Lanka Leopards, Elephants, sloth bears, Sambur, Crocodiles and over 200 bird species.

Galle is the provincial capital of Southern province and known for its Dutch fort and natural harbor in Naval operation. Galle fort first built by the Portuguese then extended to completion by the Dutch during the 17th Century. Galle fort is a historical, archaeological and architectural heritage monument which UNESCO announced as a world Heritage site in 1982.
